C.S Lewis & Illustration Part 2: Process and Progress
In part one I was working on sketches and color studies for the project. Now I am working on some of the final illustrations. My process is a little different than most traditional illustrators. First I do rough sketches then I scan them and do color studies on Photoshop, print them out and get to work on a final piece. I found it to be time consuming to paint my color studies so if I'm not using a new technique with the paint I keep the preliminary work on Photoshop. For these illustrations I'm working with gouashe on watercolor paper and illustration board... and a special mixed media element I will talk about next time.
